Student Experiences

Austin College students have traveled to Asia for study abroad, for JanTerm classes, to teach after graduation, and for pleasure.  Here we feature web pages created by our students and alums.

David Conrad graduated from Austin College in May 2006 with majors in Asian Studies and History. He was accepted to the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme for the 2006-2007. Here is an account of his experience and also some wonderful pictures.

Internship in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China - Will Radke
In the summer of 2005, Will Radke completed a two month internship for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu CPA, an international accounting firm, at their Guangzhou branch.  His internship complemented  participation in the Lilly Internship Program at Austin College.

Southeast Asian Temples-James Mitchell
In Summer 2002 James Mitchell toured around Thailand, Cambodia and Singapore looking at Hindu and Buddhist temples and examining religion in practice.  He has some fabulous pictures and some good information about the sites, which include Angkor and Sukkhothai.
