Joint Model United Nations Delegation between
Austin College and Japanese Model UN Society

Austin College formed a joint delegation with the Japan Model United Nations Society to represent Nicaragua at the 2006 National Model United Nations conference in New York.  Eleven students from across Japan traveled to the United States to visit Austin College and participate in the conference in New York.  The Japanese delegation was at Austin College from March 28th until April 3rd, then along with the Austin College Model UN students traveled to New York.  Money from the grant paid for some of  their local accomodations and meals, helping to make this exchange possible.

While in Sherman the Japanese students stayed with AC students, attended a variety of classes, worked with their partners in preparation for the NY conference, organized a very impressive Japanese culture presentation, and participated in a conference simulation.

The AC/JMUN joint delegation won an award for Distinguished Delegation for its representation of Nicaragua at the National Model United Nations conference.
