The Art of Comparative Anatomy

Art and Science go hand in hand more often than we give them credit for. The liberal arts approach to education is all about developing a well-rounded human who is also a productive citizen of the world. The exhibition is a celebration of creativity displayed by Austin College students as part of the BIOL322 Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy course. Students have the option to turn in a final project that compares some aspect of the anatomy of two different vertebrate animals. The project is very open-ended, but requires both a visual and a written component. Since 2017, students have been turning in projects remarkable not only for their creativity, but also their artistic qualities. This exhibition of some of those projects illustrates the range of these student scientist/artists.
