Week #7

Today we will not have donuts for our snack; instead we will all have an apple.  Students will need to exert self-control today because you may not eat your delicious apple until after you have painted its portrait.

Paint an apple:
Class will paint a small still life of an apple.  We will learn to use complementary colors to create neutrals, and high and low value colors to create tints and shades. We'll begin with painting a ground to develop the values before moving on to layering the local colors of the apple.  Limiting your palette will encourage harmony and unity in the work.

Next we will be starting work on a painting so this exercise will be a valuable preliminary experience for you to complete.
