James (Sandy) Beach (M.S. Stephen F. Austin State University, 1974) Biology Laboratory Manager.

Mr. Beach, in charge of departmental databases, purchasing, and equipment repair, joined the Austin College Staff in 1998. He is a graduate of Austin College, receiving a B.A. in Biology in 1968. As a graduate student, his research interests centered on woodpecker foraging behavior. For several years he served as Regional Director and Secretary of the Texas Ornithological Society. Mr. Beach has taught Natural Science, Botany, Ornithology labs, and Introductory Biology labs. His research interests continue in Ornithology and Behavioral Ecology.
