
Steven
Goldsmith (Ph.D. Arizona State University, 1985) Associate Professor
and Chair of Biology.
Before coming to Austin College in 1993, Dr. Goldsmith
taught at the University of Tulsa, where he was involved in an undergraduate
research training program funded by the National Science Foundation. At
Austin College, Dr. Goldsmith advises students interested in careers and
graduate programs in ecology and organismal biology. Dr. Goldsmith serves
as Associate Editor for Invertebrates for The Southwestern Naturalist.
He teaches Introductory
Biology, Eukaryotic
Pathogens,
Animal
Behavior, and Vertebrate
Biology. His research interests include the ecology and evolution of
insect mating systems, and the anatomy and function of insect reproductive
structures. His JanTerms include Desert
Biology and Natural
History of the Hawaiian Islands.
