Jack Pierce

Jack Pierce (Ph.D. Univ. of Texas at Austin, 1968) Professor of Biology & McGaw Chair of Health Sciences.
Professor Pierce has been a member of the Austin College faculty since 1967. Currently he teaches upper level courses in Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy and Developmental Biology in addition to serving as Director of the Health Sciences Program. Dr. Pierce has been active in the state health science advisor's organization (TAAHP), serving as Secretary-Treasurer (1991-93) and as President (1994). Dr. Pierce spends two months each summer conducting research at Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center. His research interests deal with characterization of parasitic infections of marine crabs, clams, and fishes.
