
Peter Schulze (Ph.D. Dartmouth College, 1989) Assistant Professor of
Biology.
Prior to joining Austin College in 1994, Professor Schulze held positions
at Lehigh University and Dartmouth College. While at Dartmouth he also taught
at Harvard University, where he was recognized for distinction in teaching.
During 1993-1994 Professor Schulze was the J. Herbert Hollomon Fellow of
the National Academy of Engineering, where he organized two symposia on
the interface between engineering and ecology. Dr. Schulze edited Engineering
within Ecological Constraints, which was published by the National Academy
Press in 1996. He is presently editing a second volume which will be titled
Measures of Environmental Performance and Ecosystem Condition. Professor
Schulze's primary research interests are in the ecology of freshwaters and
human environmental impacts. He is currently beginning work on the Lake
Texoma ecosystem. He teaches Introductory Biology, Ecology, Freshwater
Ecology, Research and Design of Experiments, and Introduction to Environmental
Studies.
