Group Assignment--C/I 11D: THE ENVIRONMENT: ISSUES AND CHOICES
Group Presentations Dec. 6 through Dec. 13 |
Group Assignment
On Monday, Oct. 9th the class will be randomly divided into five groups of 4 students each.
Each group of 4 students should begin meeting outside of class to decide on an environmental topic of their chosing to work on. The end product of this group work will be a 50 minute oral presentation by each group. Each member of the group will be expected to present 10 minutes of the presentation. The four 10 minute presentations will be followed by a 5 minute group summary (to handled as decided by each group). This will be followed by 5 minutes for questions. In addition, each individual will turn in a one page detailed outline summarizing their specialized part of the group project (these outlines will be due November 29th).
After groups have decided on a topic, the topics must be approved by Dr. Diggs.
Each group presentation must include at least one non-lecture method of presentation (overheads, slides, photographs, artifacts, etc.).
Grading: Your grade on this project will be based EQUALLY on two things: 1) how well the group integrates and coordinates the material in such a way as to deliver a coherent message and 2) the quality of the individual oral presentation and written outline.
