Second Assignment -- Due Friday 6 October by CLASS TIME:

Book Assignment

Based on your reading of the book Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn, write a 2 to 3 page paper based on the following two quotes given on the last two pages of the book:

“WITH MAN GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR GORILLA?”

“WITH GORILLA GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MAN?”

Your goals in writing this paper should be to present your interpretation of these quotes and in doing so demonstrate your understanding of the main ideas of the book.

This is a short paper and the emphasis is on the quality of your writing, understanding, and interpretation.

The paper should be typed, double-spaced, in a standard 12-point font (e.g., New Times Roman, Times), and should have reasonable margins.

The paper should be submitted in hard copy form at class time.
