James Franklin Johnson

Professorof Classics

Jim Johnson (Ph.D. in Classics, The University of Texas at Austin, 1980) joined Austin College in Fall of 1977. His primary areas of interest are Greek drama and epic, Greek social values and critical theory, Roman poetry and language pedagogy. He teaches a broad range of courses in Greek, Latin, and classical civilization, including Classical Mythology and Greek Literature in Translation. Jim is a member of the Classics Program within the Department of Classical and Modern Languages. He is also a member of Austin College's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
