A chronological and topical survey of Roman history from the founding of Rome to the reign of Constantine, with emphasis on the social and political developments of the Late Republic and Early Empire.

Classics 54
A study of selected features of Roman history, including a critical examination of the nature of source materials for reconstructing Roman social, political and intellectual history. Prerequisite: at least one course in classics at the 20 level or above, or permission of the instructor.
