• These vocabulary flash cards provide an English word or words and ask you to identify and give information about corresponding the Latin words.
  • For verbs, give all the principal parts. For nouns, give the nominative, genitive, and gender ("f", "m", "n", or "c"). For adjectives and pronouns, give the nominative forms (always make 3 nominatives, so fortis, forte should be given as fortis, fortis, forte. For adverbs, conjunctions, and prepositions, give the Latin word in the first box and put lowercase na in the other three.
  • Identify the parts of speech with the abbreviations given for the 5th box. In the 6th, give the number of the declension or conjugation (if a noun or verb [1, 2, 3, 4, 5; 3i for 3rd declension i-stems; or 3io for 3rd conjugation -io]), or the case it takes (if a preposition); for adjectives of the first and second declension, write '1-2'; for third declension write '3'. For other types of words, write lowercase na in the space.
