||There have been teachers
of History at Austin College since the college opened
its doors over a hundred and fifty years ago.
Today's department of five full-time faculty
members is home to both the State Historian of
Texas (Light Cummins) and a winner of the 2010 T. R.
Fehrenbach Book Prize (Jacqueline Moore).
|Our students become historians, attorneys, school teachers, entrepreneurs, salespersons, physicians, officials, journalists, ministers, writers, city planners, and active participants in all kinds of history-related work. We teach History as a way of understanding the world, as the basis for learning over a whole lifetime.|
