Daniel Dominick, music director
Daniel L. Dominick has been Music Director and Conductor of the Sherman Symphony Orchestra since 1992.  Maestro Dominick began his orchestral conducting career at Florida State University where he completed his graduate degrees in Orchestral Conducting and Historical Musicology simultaneously.  It was while at FSU that he presented the world premiere of the musical Politico! as music director and conductor, and conducted the University Symphony Orchestra and several other groups.  Since accepting his post with the SSO he has begun an international conducting career, including concerts in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Poland.  Dominick has arranged several pieces for orchestra; his most recent is a string orchestra and soprano version of Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, available soon from G. Schirmer and Associated Music Publishers.
A concert pianist and teacher at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, Maestro Dominick performs on a regular basis, including an appearance with the SSO playing the Beethoven Emperor Concerto.  He has recently performed solo recitals, a joint recital with tenor Wayne Crannell, and collaborated with soprano Cynthia Russell (fall 2006/spring 2007).  Maestro Dominick can be contacted at ddominick@austincollege.edu.
