2020 - 2021 Season

OCTOBER
The first concert of the SSO’s 56th season will be in person and live on the stage of Kidd-Key Auditorium in Sherman. We’ll provide the appropriate spacing for audience seating and request that audience members mask for safety. The orchestra has invited pianist Scott Watkins to join us on Bach’s Piano Concerto
No. 4 in A Major--a bright and uplifting work that will help us celebrate our return to the stage. Also on this concert is Mozart’s fantastic Symphony No. 29 in A Major, a work that is upbeat and happy and makes a perfect companion to Bach’s concerto. Other works are by American composer William Grant Still (“Out of the Silence”) and English composer Frederick Delius (“Two Aquarelles” and “Air and Dance”).

DECEMBER
Yes, Santa comes to the SSO Christmas Pops. Expect fun arrangements of holiday tunes, beautiful decorations, and table seating so that you can bring holiday snacks for your guests to enjoy. We’re in negotiations with the Man in Red to make a public appearance at the shows!

FEBRUARY
This concert is still in the planning stages (everything this year is taking so much extra planning!). We’ll have more great orchestral works, and there’ll be surprises and delights among the wonderful standard pieces. Our musicians won’t let you down.
