afternoon First group of five enters Uffizi Museum at 12:45. Note that the museum has a special da Vinci exhibit. Guided tour begins at 3:30. Group assembles at top of stairway inside museum. Guided tour by Kirk Duclaux (affiliated with Syracuse University in Florence)

1:00 pm Departure on city bus 12 from SMN train station for Arcetri. Transfer to bus 38b at Porta Romana

2:30 pm Tour of Galieo’s house in Arcetri, led by Marcello Felli of the Arcetri Observatory

4:00 pm Visit to San Matteo convent hosted by Fra Joseph

Tuesday 5/30/06

8:00 am Breakfast at Hotel Castri

9:30 am Departure by bus to Siena

11:00 am Guided tour of the bottini in Siena by Signore Cappechi representing the association La Diana

12:30 am Break for lunch in il Campo

1:30 pm Ricciarelli  and vin santo at Café Nannini

2:00 pm Visit to either the Siena Cathedral or the Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala

4:00 pm Return by bus to Flroence with brief stop at Monterrigione

Wednesday 5/31/06

8:00 am Breakfast at Hotel Castri

9:00 am Fortezza da basso

10:00 am Departure by bus to Prato

11:00 am Visit to the Datini Archives in Prato with a presentation by the Director, Diana Toccafondi

12:30 am Break for lunch in Prato

1:30 pm Bus departs Prato for return to Florence, stopping at the medieval wool fulling mills at Gualchiere di Remole on the Arno river

4:30 pm Awarding of course diplomas in Florence!
