Austin College embraces the philosophy that the cultural learning and awareness fostered through foreign study is an important part of a liberal arts education. Studying abroad can extend the curriculum of the College beyond the resources of the campus, generate both intellectual and personal sensitivity to the variations of life, culture, and scholarship in the world, and thus contribute to responsible citizenship.  The purpose of study abroad is to enhance and complement campus educational experiences and to promote global citizenship.

  • Understanding of a new culture
  • Developing global awareness
  • Getting courses unavailable on the Austin College campus
  • Personal development, gaining independence

The question you should ask yourself as you consider the opportunity to study abroad should be ...

Why not?
