Comprised of students and faculty from Austin College and other area schools as well as local professionals, the Jazz Ensemble consists of a full 20-piece big band which performs literature ranging from traditional swing to contemporary fusion.  Membership is open to all Austin College students on the basis of auditions which are held at the beginning of each academic year.  (Information for the current year's auditions is given on the Music Department's main webpage.)  Performances of the Jazz Ensemble are scheduled each semester in Wynne Chapel on the Austin College campus as well as at other area schools.
